Natchez Trace Campfire Trip


Friday June 15, 2PM till midnight

Everyone will meet at the church at 2 pm.We will go to Natchez Trace Pin Oak Lake Campground. There we will have a paddleboat,  tubes and a swimming area. We will also take along a volleyball and badmitten net. Youth can swim and play games, while the adults prepare a meal for about 6 pm. It will consist of fried chicken, potato salad, corn, beans rice, rolls, cokes or water,and ice cream for desert. After dinner you can choose between a moonlight kayak ride ora hayride through the park.  At 8:30 we will start a campfire, have ice cream and roast marshmallows, play some guitar and sing some songs. Some of the group can share personal testimonies or significant events in their Christian walk, and then we will have one on one prayer.

We will head home at 11:30 pm

Things to bring:

  1. A friend
  2. Signed release form
  3. Towel,swimsuit, and change of dry clothes
  4. A lawnchair or blanket to sit on
  5. Sunscreen, bug spray
  6. A bicycle if you want to ride
  7. Fishing gear and fishing license if you would like to fish.

Adults we need are: a van driver, a couple of car drivers, someone to build and tend campfire, someone to help grill and prepare food, people to drop off prepared dishes. We are also looking for someone to lend us a rowboat, kayak or canoe.

Anyone interested in staying the night in a tent and helping with cleanup Saturday morning will be treated to sausage eggs and biscuit in the morning prepared by Casey.
